Schedule Updates for Fall ’10 Being Mailed

We just ran an update of the BUSIPlus database, and are in the process of mailing changes to user’s schedules. Please check your email to see if there are any new changes to your room numbers or class times. Also, shoot us an email if you see any classes that are incorrect or missing. Summer, Fall 2010 Schedules Now Available

All of the Summer 2010 and Fall 2010 courses are now up on BUSIPlus. Once again, please accept our apologies for the delay this semester. Let us know if you find any missing classes, though we have done our best to make sure that all classes are on BUSIPlus.

BUSIPlus Updated; Changes Emailed

It seems that the earlier slowdowns experienced are now gone, and our course roster has been updated. As such, emails have been sent out to notify users of changes to their schedules. If you are unsure of whether your schedule has changed, please log into BUSIPlus and verify your schedule and room numbers. Good luck to everyone this semester!

Check Your Schedules – Issue with Updates

Please make sure you verify your schedules manually against BU Brain. There is an issue where our updates against Banner seem to have been slowed down significantly. As a result, we are unable to update the roster of classes temporarily, and cannot guarantee that your schedules do not contain obsolete information.

We will not email schedule updates until the roster is up-to-date. This is to ensure that we do not send incorrect information to our users. We will notify you when the issue has been resolved, and you will receive an email with updates to your schedule. We apologize for this inconvenience, but hope to have the issue rectified shortly.

Spring 2010 Schedules Now Posted!

The Spring 2010 course roster is now up! Please make sure to notify us by either using the feedback form or sending an email if you find any errors!

Also, we’ve noticed that the course descriptions are broken. We are looking into the best way to bring those back, as BU Brain seems to lack consistency these days. We’re also looking into what to do to restore the grading option (letter vs. pass/fail) information into BUSIPlus. We’ll keep you updated once we figure out what to do for both of these issues.

Spring 2010 Schedules Coming This Weekend

Just a quick note that we are currently working on adding in the Spring 2010 schedules to BUSIPlus. There have been a couple of small issues that need to be fixed (thanks, BU Brain…), but we should have it up and running by Monday. Once we do, we’ll post an update on the blog, so make sure to check back here!

Course Listings Fixed; Schedule Updates Being Emailed

The two bugs in our database updater have finally been fixed. You should find that all Fall 2009 courses are appearing on BUSIPlus with updated enrollments. Please email us if this isn’t the case. Summer ’09 courses are currently being updated and should be fixed shortly.

Despite our hopes of doing this before the first day of classes, these bugs kept us from emailing users with changes to their schedules. Now that the errors are gone, we have started sending these immediately. You should receive any updates within a few hours. Hopefully they’ll be of some use to you guys. That said, this is a good time to remind users that BUSIPlus cannot be relied on for real-time updates. It may take us a day or two to detect a schedule change. As a precaution, always verify your schedule against Banner to make sure you don’t miss a class!

Errors Resulting from Latest Updates

Update: August 31st

One of the two bugs has been solved, but unfortunately the major bug still remains. Unexpected events have prevented us from working on this as intended, though the second bug will be addressed Monday. Once the bug is fixed, we will email schedule updates. Please bear with us and accept our sincere apologies for the delay.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but it appears that BU Brain has changed the underlying code for its schedule of classes somewhat, and that’s screwing up our database updater. The following errors have been noted so far:

Courses from the following departments are missing: COLI, ENG, LACS
Gened information is missing
Some partial semester classes may not have durations listed

Please keep in mind that schedules you have already saved in your account are unaffected.

This currently affects both Summer 2009 and Fall 2009 schedules. For the time being, we have halted updating to prevent the situation from worsening. This issue will be addressed tonight, and we hope to have updated schedules in our database by Saturday morning. Again, our apologies for any trouble this may cause.

CS Course Bug for Fall 2009 Courses Fixed

Found the bug in our code, and fixed the problem! Over the next several hours, we will update the database with the new class data. The CS department’s entries have already been fixed. Please let us know if you find any more erroneous/missing entries in the meantime.
